To ensure availability, we kindly recommend calling the store in advance to reserve.* A 1-hour holistic hair care and relaxation journey at Imperial Retreat begins with a fragrant mental relaxation session to ease the mind. This is followed by specialized techniques to release tension in the head's meridians and a thorough cleansing and conditioning treatment for the scalp and hair. Guests can choose to dry their hair at our self-service stations or opt for a blow-dry by one of our staff. Frequently asked questions Q: Is this a Japanese head spa? A: It is a Japanese-style head spa: a deep scalp cleanse, scalp massage and hair conditioning in a calm, relaxing setting. We also use Chinese meridian techniques to release tension in the head, neck and shoulders. Q: What is a head spa? A: A head spa is a scalp and hair treatment combined with relaxation. Our 60-minute Imperial Head Spa starts with an aromatic relaxation session, then works on tension points in the head and finishes with a deep scalp cleanse and hair conditioning treatment. Q: How long does the head spa take and how much is it? A: The Imperial Head Spa is 60 minutes and costs $75 at our Newmarket location. The Emperor Head Spa adds a 30-minute mini facial with shoulder and neck massage (90 minutes, $125). Q: Can I dry and style my hair afterwards? A: Yes. You can dry your hair yourself at our self-service stations, or ask our staff for a blow-dry. Q: Do I need to book ahead? A: Booking online is recommended. A: Please give at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule, and arrive 10 to 15 minutes early to fill in the intake form.
Cancellation Policy
Late arrivals: We respectfully request that you arrive 10 to 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time to allow time to fill out any required intake forms and answer any intake questions the therapist may have. When booking services at Imperial Retreat, your appointment is scheduled with a therapist, whose time is allocated exclusively for your scheduled treatment. If you know you will be a few minutes late, please call us ahead of time so we can do our best to try and accommodate you. Cancellation and Rescheduling: At Imperial Retreat, we understand that unforeseen circumstances may require you to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Our goal is to provide the best possible service while managing our schedule efficiently to benefit all our guests. 24 Hours’ Notice: No charge. We kindly request that you provide us with at least 24 hours’ notice for any cancellations or changes to your appointment. Rescheduling: Rescheduling must be done with at least 24 hours’ notice. We reserve the right to change our appointment policy at any time. If you are not satisfied with our services, please let us know within 24 hours after the service. We will not be responsible for any problems after 24 hours. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. This policy helps us ensure that we can accommodate the needs of all our guests and continue providing the quality service you expect and deserve. We reserve the right to refuse service to any guest.
